which I think don't at all detract

with a turban suggesting a Middle Eastern one

especially the way the various structures are spaced out and snuggled together

with a monograph carved into the reverse

A good set to play with, in very good condition, with ebonized wood backs. (I'm realizing I forget to photo the backs, but they are near black and in very good shape.) Late ish 19th c. I believe.
